New Orleans Hamburger

In large heavy skillet fry the chopped onions in vegtable oil until glazed and slightly browned.
Put ground beef in large mixing bowl and add browned onions and remaining spices and ingredients. Mix well, use your hands. Divide into 4 portions and shape into wide patties about 1/3 to 1/2 inch high.
Heat large skillet until a drop of water dances on it. (High temperature is important) Grill hamburgers on both sides until well browned, flattening them with spatula while they cook. Hamburgers should be about 3/8 inch thick after cooking and rather crisp at the edges.
Serve on french bread.
Garnish with your favorites, slice creole tomatoe, creole mustard, spicy ketchup, pickel slices. Since everyone has their own taste it is always best to provide all the fixin's.
