Welcome to Louisiana Recipes As anyone who knows me knows, I have an inordinate love for a good golf tournament, and, happy of happies, the semi-annual Ryder Cup competition between the US and Europe kicks off tomorrow. It will be held at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, and it's no surprise that the restaurants in the area are playing it up. USA team captain Davis Love III and Europe's captain Jose Marie Olazabel have dishes named in their honor at the legendary Harry Caray's: the Davis Love III Shrimp and Grits, and the Jose Marie Olazabel Seafood Paella. They also have a cocktail on the menu called the Ryder Cup, and we present versions of these in the recipe section below for you to try. Great food, and great golf—you can call me Couch Potato this weekend Each year Chef Duke LoCicero spearheads a group of people who dress in holiday costumes and distribute gifts and toys to seriously ill children, and children in difficult emotional and financial circumstances. His annual fundraiser is Saturday night, at Cafe Giovanni. Tickets are available at the door, and include over 40 different wines, great food, and support a great cause.
