The Louisiana Seafood Festival kicks off tommorrow morning, and runs through Sunday night. The musical lineup this year is spectacular, as is the list of food vendors. As usual, you will find us at the WWL-TV Cooking Pavilion. Cooking demonstrations start at 1:00 Friday afternoon, and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Stop by and say hello, and sit down and enjoy cooking tips and recipes from some of our state's best chefs. I bet you'll learn something, and I know you'll go home with some great ideas. For this week's recipes, I turned to a couple of Yankees -- who just happen to have won the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbecue, which is pretty much the holy grail of barbecue competitions. They all contain multiple components, some of which you will undoubtedly find useful in other culinary situations. They're excerpted from Wicked Good Barbecue, by Andy Husbands and Chris Hart. I think you'll be inspired for Labor Day grilling, and tailgate parties all fall. We don't often publish what appears within the pages of the magazine to the website, but I've made an exception. The last of the summer corn is hitting the markets, and this feature, 8 Fresh Flavors for Grilled Corn, was such a hit I decided to share it. Put some corn on the grill this Labor Day Weekend, and let me know which version is your favorite. It may be hard to pick just one! See our list of what's happening around Louisiana below and find something to do this weekend, even if it's just staying cool. Whatever you decide, enjoy the recipes this week, share them with family and friends, and, as always, let me know what's on your mind.
