Dill Pickle Tartar Sauce

Condiments and Sauces

Makes about 1½ cups

Ingredients: 
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons minced dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons minced capers
  • 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallot
  • 1 tablespoon minced chives
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon Creole mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt to taste

Method: 

 

Combine all ingredients but salt; allow to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings, adding salt if desired; note that pickles and capers contain salt. Will keep, refrigerated, for up to 4 days.
