| In conjunction with National Tourism Week (May 3-11, 2014) the US Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District, the LA Dept. of Wildlife & Fisheries and the US Fish & Wildlife Service is sponsoring a free public, family friendly event to learn about and participate in many activities including fishing, archery, boating and canoeing, target and trap shooting, bird watching, water safety and many more pursuits in the Atchafalaya. Come to see special guests, enter drawings for door prizes and peruse many exhibits including dog training, trapping techniques, turkey and duck calling, raptors and live wildlife.
Camping is available at Sherburne Headquarters - call for more information. Specific emphasis on the individuals with special needs. All equipment is provided. No alcoholic beverages or glass containers allowed. |
